Helps with daily operations in one of our two offices.  General office experience needed.  Phones, filing, data entry, computer skills, use of standard office equipment.  Will work with and be supported by Reading And Beyond staff.


Maintenance On-Call


General maintenance as needed, at our two offices.  Performs a wide variety of maintenance duties in order to provide a functional, orderly, and safe environment, and performs related work as required.  Troubleshoots problems, performs minor repairs, and responds to emergency calls for service.  Some maintenance/repair experience needed.

Materials Translator


Assists Reading And Beyond staff in translating documents for use in the implementation of our programs.

Volunteer Opportunities

Reading Tutors


Helps elementary-aged students improve reading skills through one-on-one tutoring in an after-school program setting.  Reading tutors promote a love of learning and self-esteem by being a positive and encouraging influence.  Volunteers are matched with one child for a three-month period in order to build trust and rapport. 


Reading Tutoring takes place at one of our Community-Based Sites, each with its own Reading And Beyond Site Coordinator to provide support for volunteers.  No experience is required.  All volunteers attend a one-and-a-half hour orientation prior to beginning service.  Topics to be covered include reading strategies, volunteer requirements, etc.
